Hello, I’m Reggie and I’m the voice of local food. That's because I’m your voice. When you Reggie-ster (sorry) on this site, you will be able to get involved in helping promote and share what's great and sometimes, what's not so great about the food that's produced and sold around you. Long established, family owned butcher.Fantastic range of prize winning sausages, hot meat sandwiches from own produce to die for.Martyn takes tremendous pride in and care of his products.Knowlegeable and attentive staff, innovative ideas beautifully displayed.
There is an excellent choice of products. There is good labelling telling you where all the fruit and vegetables are from. Bread is from a local baker and they sell their own meat and eggs.
In addition to this they sell other grocery items, a lot of them organic/ethical (eg Lancashire honey & preserves, Suma products, Fairtrade chocolate etc. etc)
Natures Garden started supplying me with good quality affordable organic food in 2004, it was one of the first local box schemes in the area before Organic food became 'trendy' I am still pleased to say that the concept of the business has remained the same to supply local people with a great reliable service at a fraction of the cost of other box schemes and by keeping food miles to a minimum. The boxes have been wonderful throughout this time and have provided family and friends with great tasting produce. I think part of the success of Natures Garden is they will always listen to your suggestions and queries sort out any problems quickly and the friendliness, helpful nature and dedication to the customer is great so 4 years on I can't fault it. Excellent!
This is a great way to get locally sourced weekly fresh veg, lowering the carbon footprint. Its a government supported scheme which is subsidised hence the low cost at £4.50 per box. Local pick up points are to be found on the website www.healthyboxes.co.uk, local schools tend to only have the boxes term time but Pendeen Centre and Newlyn Childrens Centre have boxes all the year round.
Borough Market is my favourite spot in London to visit on a Saturday morning. The crowds are a bit daunting, but the food and vendors and environment always make up for it. A fantastic place to bring visiting friends and family too!
I have been a Riverford customer for about three years, and have passed on the word to many.
I always find that thier fruit and vegetables are delicious.
Each week we also get a newletter which is great as it keeps us in contact with what is actually going on at the farm.
Simon is great, if I've ever email him with a query or concern, he gets back to me straight away.
I would highly recommend Riverford for all your organic fruit veg, and recently added meat boxes.
If you enjoy gingerbeer do order the Luscome hot ginger beer - delicious.
We've been visiting Clive's for about a year now as my children love to feed the chickens and pigs! It also has a lovely playground and the pick your own produce is great. The home brewed cider and perry (very potent) is great and the staff are, on the whole, friendly and polite. It is a very pleasant place to visit with a nice little cafe, although the service is sometimes a little slow.
I have noticed however, that there has been a sharp increase in the price of the animal feed and the farm shop produce isn't always fresh, with some fruit and veg being left to nearly rotting point. The free range chickens from a nearby farm are beautiful though and are a must to buy if you visit.
On the whole, and enjoyable place to visit and nice to combine with a visit to nearby Upton.
Bath Soft Cheese Ltd - Bath
I used to work on the delicatessen in an organic farmshop, and had the pleasure of ordering from the guys at Bath soft cheese once every other week.
