Hello, I’m Reggie and I’m the voice of local food. That's because I’m your voice. When you Reggie-ster (sorry) on this site, you will be able to get involved in helping promote and share what's great and sometimes, what's not so great about the food that's produced and sold around you. And, by shopping locally, with local suppliers you will also help the local economy.

Jaxsons Deli is a really great cheese shop. It keeps french cheeses but often there is a local or west country equivalent which is even better and they sell it. Also look out for their baked cakes which are really unusual. Why buy things from abroard when the local choice is so great?

Having heard to much about this place, I thought I would check it out myself last friday evening and was very impressed by what I discovered.
Uplifting atmosphere and view of Regents canal with nice tunes playing on, what I gather is a state of the art sound system.
I was tempted by all the mouth watering food in the hot display and succumbed to a vegan spanokopita with veg sides. Very tasty and not expensive for the size of potion and quality of food. This was shortly followed by a raw chocolate cake, as good as I have tasted.
I decided to stay for the event an witnessed the place transform into a club venue as lots of lovely people, who clearly know their music arrived and got a buzz happening. I found myself dancing to some thoroughly groovy an sociable techno and electro, as good as it gets in festivals or clubs. I will be back and got them on my radar for their delicious food amazing events and unique events.

My family and I travelled from Bridport to try the king and Thai last night and are glad we did. We had a really lovely evening, the food was delicious and the service was first rate, we really couldn't fault it. We will definitely be back and will tell all our friends about it.

Thanks for a great meal and a friendly welcome

In my opinion the best in town. Huge variety of delicious breads and cakes made with the best ingredients and a lot of love and skill. If you need a sandwich or pasty you won't be disappointed and they have good wholesome salads to take away too. Our favorite indulgence is their walnut and pecan flapjack. You can get local unhomogenised milk, cream, local eggs, flour and fresh yeast (if you want to take them on at their own game - but I prefer to let them do the work!).

This is a rave review for BURTON'S BANGERS & BACON, OF SALTBURN BY THE SEA.

Do you want Sausage that does'nt shrink when you cook it???.
Do you want Sausage that has skin that is not thick but thin enough so you hardly notice it when eating.
Do you want Sausage that produces hardly any fat wastage when you cook it???, (frying or grilling).
Do you want Sausage that is full of flavour, and when it says PORK sausage you can taste the meat and flavour it is supposed to be???.

Well, then try BURTON'S BANGERS & BACON for size.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!.

Home made sausages fresh straight from the premises into your pan/grill. You can get the larger Banger size or the smaller Breakfast Sausage in various flavours, from Pork to the more herby Romany flavour.

A sausage that as soon as you taste it, you know you are eating quality meat and you won't have a better sausage eating experience than this.

This sausage is the best i have ever tasted and has to be tried to be believed.

Great product, great people who will deliver your order to your door with a smile and a chat. Give these guys a try.

A local business that if you like SAUSAGE, deserve your support.

Cheers

I have eaten here 3 times since they opened in February and the food and service has been consistenly good. The manager is very friendly, the menu has a section explaining where all their food is sourced.

This is a great scheme for busy working people in West West Dorset and has the advantage of having a stall on Bridport's Wednesday market too. You can find them opposite Jackson's in West Street. They use many of the local organic and permaculture producers, so this cuts down food miles to a minimum and gives you the freshest local produce possible

We had a great meal the other night, service was friendly and typically Thai. They have a section in the menu which tells you where all the food has come from and it is free range which I have not seen in a Thai before.

Not only are the sausages delicious, I have never found a suspect grisly bit lurking!! The skins to the sausages are not like plastic, do not split, and there is no fat swimming around the pan when cooking them. The taste in the three types we tried, together with the burgers in the same flavours are excellent, not over seasoned and with good texture. Not tried the veggie ones, but there again we aren't veggies so quite happy to stick with the Cleveland, Festival and the Romany. Chose the breakfast sausages rather than the big ones as we have smaller appetites so find them just right for us. They freeze well and althought I intended to freeze and have as a standby, they dont last long enough!!! As for the bacon - what a change not to have to drain off that white salty liquid. The bacon, both smoked and unsmoked actually crisps up, a rarity nowadays and does not shrink or make your mouth curl up with salt. About time - we can now get good quality at a good price delivered by a very friendly and pleasant Mrs. B. I have passed the word around my friends so hopefully they will join me, as a satisfied customer.
