You certainly won't be hungry with a Delilah sandwich - tasty, stuffed, wholesome and tastes delicious! Being a vegetariand and a cheese addict, the cheese selection is like heaven to me! I go in every time I/m in Nottingham and still haven't tried every cheese!
Always clean, staff are always courteous and helpful and you couldn't ask for a better deli.
Always a wide variety of fresh vegetables in stock, and the produce is without fail in excellent condition, beautifully coloured and taste just how vegetables used to taste!
The cheese selectioin is varied, and staff will let you sample pieces before buying, and are happy to cut as big or as small a piece as you choose.
The strawberry jam is to die for, and there is a good range of other, attractive looking preserves to select from. The only difficulty is not dipping into the jam o the drive home - it's *that* tempting.
I'm glad I logged on here today, as I wasnot aware they had begin selling hay and animal food - I have a lot of rescued guinea pigs who fight over Spring Lane carrots; it will be interesting to see if their hay is as good as their human food!
Well worth a visit if you're in the area. Bring a coolbox - when you see the wonderful joints and juicy sausages, you WILL want to stock up!
I absolutely cannot find fault with The Original Farmer's Market Shop. I have visited many times and every time have come away impressed with the service, the quality and extensive range of goods and the knowledgeable, helpful staff. The Sloe Gin and the Christmas Chutneys are absolutely fabulous and turn the simplest supper into a feast.
The cheese with nettle and the cheese with chives are both to die for, always moist, full of flavour and very reasonably priced. There is an extensive range of Stiltons, and a delicous Brie that is amazing teamed with a little Christmas chutney on a cracker. Wash it down with a bottle of Bakewell bitter, and, if you have any room left, a famous Bakewell tart, and you have a feast fit for a king - all locally produced, all delicious and all incredibly more-ish.
