Went for a meal here a few months ago. The service from start to finish was great, conversational, informal, pleasant and informative. The food was superb, as good as any more expensive fine dining experince in Brighton, not what you expect in Seaford. I had local beef and vegetables, local fish starter and all was delicious. Well done, its a gem!

very good little market, Lewes is a lovely and very interesting town in the Sussex countryside and it has a great mix of shops, foodie places and places of historical interest to visit. It's market has a great selection of local producers too. Well worth a visit on both counts.

Having just returned from a family holiday in Fowey, Cornwall, we couldn't get enough of Roskilly's. A truly divine taste, my kids (and me) were delighted to find Roskilly's available whenever we wanted it, namely Fowey harbour, Padstow and even Lands End. It really is very good and well worth a lick some time soon. Favourite flavours were Fudge (my son), Cappucino (wife) and a very natural strawberry (my daughter). I liked the clotted cream and chocolate flavours (on top of each other). Can't wait til next year.

We have close friends in Gypsy Hill who swear by Joanna's. We visited them recently and joined them for a meal there. The food was fantastic I must say, we ate in the window table and despite only eating burgers, they were of the highest standard and quality - You give me hope Joanna's - hope Joanna's - (sorry).....

Had a superb meal at this place last night. Great atmosphere - Truly excellent service and divine food. The menu featured lots of locally sourced ingreditents, such as the halibut and I can't speak highly enough of this dining experience. 10/10

I went to Stein's Fish & Chips last summer on a family holiday in Padstow. I agree with Holmes, there are pros and cons. The staff were not very friendly, it was way too busy and of course, a little steep.

However - The fish and chips is excellent. My son has cod & chips for kids and this was 3 beautiful mini cod fillets. The batter was very crisp and stayed crisp. The chips delicious. I had squid and chips and this was not calamari rings, it was a whole local squid that was prepared, floured and cooked in front of me.

So my advice is, well worth a try - if its food you want, this place delivers, if its an experience, not so great!

My wife buys her fish from Paul's Plaice and they are very helpful. They always pack your fillets with some fresh herbs, advise on recipes and sell with a smile. This is a great local shop and I couldn't agree more with the previous review. The supermarket over the road simply doesn't compete...
