In my opinion the best in town. Huge variety of delicious breads and cakes made with the best ingredients and a lot of love and skill. If you need a sandwich or pasty you won't be disappointed and they have good wholesome salads to take away too. Our favorite indulgence is their walnut and pecan flapjack. You can get local unhomogenised milk, cream, local eggs, flour and fresh yeast (if you want to take them on at their own game - but I prefer to let them do the work!).
Been supporting this cafe regularly for years and never been disappointed. Their salads are amongst the best in town. They are genuinely passionate about the quality of food they provide and the atmosphere is wholesome and friendly too.
Veg just like home-grown. The farm only sells organic, home-grown seasonal produce, nothing brought in from elsewhere - can't get more local than that - and one really appreciates the seasons! Prices very reasonable too.
Love it. The shop/cafe has a good feel as you walk in and you feel the urge to browse. Great emphasis on 'local' produce. Big selection of cheeses, which you can always try before you buy. Lots of other goodies and ethical gifts too. Everyone gets a warm welcome and they always working to increase their stock of locally-produced food. Try their home-made hummus, or (if you pick the right day) hazelnut torte........to die for....mmmm. You'll have to be quick though, it doesn't last long!
Very handy being in the middle of town, and their shop and cafe is never empty - they must be getting it right!
