Well, I must say we were disappointed with our visit last Saturday (3rd May 2008 approx 6 pm). Having been there several times before for meals and enjoyed a reasonable standard, we decided to call in on our way to the theatre. I ordered what I thought was a prawn cocktail. It arrived with lots of cocktail sauce and very few prawns making it, for me almost enedible and I was forced to leave two-thirds of it. Upon mentioning the fact to the waitress she said she "would mention it in the kitchen". No-one bothered to follow-up this comment and upon leaving, I brought this fact up with the person behind the bar who simply responded by saying "Well I looked at it" and that was it!
Unfortunately my husband had paid cash up front at the time of ordering; had he not done so we would certainly not have paid for the "prawn cocktail". Upon leaving we did notice that the name of the licencee above the door was missing however, so has it changed hands I wonder.......We shall not be returning and, as a few of my work colleagues use this pub, I have certainly mentioned this incident to them.
