Steve and his son Darren are the second and third generation to run this business in the High St in Deal. They sell a wide range of fish, shellfish and game, locally sourced where possible and always to the very highest standards of quality and freshness. They will happily carry out any filleting, scaling or portioning of fish required and are always happy to give sound advice on the types of fish available and cooking methods.

My advice to anyone visiting the shop is to stand outside and take a good long sniff. I guarantee that you will not smell fish, only the ozone-like smell of really fresh produce. Sadly, not something you could do in most supermarkets and a lot of other fishmongers.

This is a genuine family business run by Graham and Mavis with their son Martin who are always cheerful and friendly. Graham is one of the few remaining master butchers and has worked in every part of the trade, from slaughterhpouse to shop so really knows his stuff. All of the meat is sourced from local free range farms and travels only a short distance to a local abbattoir. I can't reccommend this shop highly enough, it really is a time warp both in terms of quality of produce and service.
