This pleasant nursery has an excellent Cafe, The Acorn, it's really reasonable and pretty much everything is homemade and cooked while you wait. Daily specials like Lasagne, Cauliflower cheese etc and great toasties, jackets, all-day breakfasts etc., we like to have our lunch there from time to time and it is always a pleasure. Log burner, friendly staff and well stocked with plants and gardening stuff and pet paraphenalia. You won't find anything fancy - it's good, homely, unfussy food.

Met Claire last year at Poole Eat Out Live, decided to buy my turkey here, missed out on their own reared ones, but one supplied was by the original supplier of their poults. Excellent flavoured turkey and friendly service. Their eggs are lovely, really deep yellow yolks. Newsletter keeps you up to date with available products - beef and lamb now available not tried yet. Little bit out of the way, a proper farm, but beautiful part of the country, so makes trip a pleasure, not a chore. Suggest you ring before making special trip.

Excellent farm shop, had fantastic blueberry bonanza weekend this weekend 26th/27th July, tastings, demos, cultivation techniques, goody bags, plantation tour. Friendly bunch and wide range of stock; you can get your whole dinner and the pud at their shop, something you can't do everywhere, which can be irritating and invlove you in another trip somewhere, which kind of defeats the object. Cranborne Estate meat, Isle of Wight Garlic, Barford Ice Cream, local cheeses, fresh veggies, the list goes on. Coffee shop has short (not a criticism)but tasty homecooked menu, proper jacket pots, not microwaved, generously served with choice of toppings, homemade cakes, cream teas and specials. Lovely log burner in the winter, a real treat to do your shopping here. Look out for special events too.
