Muddy Boots is a great farm shop, selling produce grown on the farm and elsewhere locally, as well as some absolutely amazing local organic meats, and free range eggs laid on the farm. They also have a good range of jams, chutneys etc, and ice cream. And the strawberries and raspberries are to die for! The atmosphere is lovely, and shopping there is so easy I very rarely bother setting foot in a supermarket for meat or veg any more.

The cafe and other activities also mean that it makes a good day out.

Admittedly it's a number of years since I used to frequent this place, as I moved away from Manchester in 1999, but in my days at MMU, On the Eighth Day was my favourite place to get my student lunch. Great, wholesome food, at great prices, combined with a lovely relaxed atmosphere, so unless things have changed massively, I'd highly recommend a visit.

We have used Fletchers a number of times, both buying at the farm in Auchtermuchty, and at farmers markets, and have never been disappointed with the quality or the service. We LOVE their venison steaks.
