Dawn Hackett who runs this amazing traveling cheese emporium from her wonderfully restored Citroen van has brought the wonders of British Cheeses into the heart of Faversham. She also has a web site http://www.thecheesebox.co.uk where you can order cheese and I believe she also visits Whitstable market. She is friendly, knowledgeable and a great saleswoman - I always leave with at least two more cheeses than I had intended.
A small local butcher selling their own traditionally reared meat from the Luddenham marshes. I had given up eating pork until I moved to Faversham and tasted theirs - it is so full of flavour and makes superb crackling. They make their own bacon too which is delicious.
Fabulous sausages and well hung meat. This shop is a joy to visit, the traditional butchery skills and wide range of other cheeses and local vegetables make it a one stop shop for all you need for a great meal.
Quiet simply the best baker for miles. Martin Flynn is a Master baker who makes over 20 different types of bread and pastries every day. My favourites are Dark Bavarian Rye, Pumpkin Bread, Irish Batch and sublime chocolate croissants. His wife Carolyn runs the shop and welcomes everyone with such a friendly smile. They are so popular that they often sell out by lunch time and there are queues out of the door at the weekend.
