This is one of the best Butchers in Bristol. Sheepdrove has to be the largest range of organic meat in the area. It is impeccable inside and exactly what you want from a butcher. Quality meat, friendly knowledgeable service and a fantastic range. The meat really is sublime! In the summer they have ready-made kebabs & burgers which are gorgeous. If you live in Bristol and can afford the luxury of organic meat then you simply MUST shop here!

I have been to the Pieminister shop in Stokes croft which is a little uninspiring to say the least. However the pies are okay, not the best I have tried. The Chicken and tarragon pie I last had was very over powering with vermouth (Or some sort of booze). I almost feel that they complicate the pies by putting too many ingredients in them. What’s wrong with a really good bit of free range chicken and a light drizzle of gravy in the pie? Style over substance for me I’m afraid.

On a lighter note - I know people who love their pies so it's really down to personal taste! :) Try them yourself, for £4 it's worth a punt! Perhaps I am a person of simple tastes!

I live only 10 mins form Finest in Westbury-on-Trym village and it's a lovely little delicatessen! Not to be mistaken with a farm shop (No vegetables or milk here). However they do have a great range of snacks, Japanese rice crackers, BBQ Cashew nuts, Turkish delight (YUM!). They also have stock some delicious fair trade chocolate from the Divine range. I've purchased some of the pie minster pies from here and wasn't too bowled over by them but that's no reflection on the shop itself. The blonde lady who works in the shop is always so friendly and helpful. I would recommend visiting this shop for good cheese and snacks (sweet & savoury). I visit there perhaps once a fortnight and always greeted with a smile.
