A chilly trip around Brackley's farmer's market rewarded me with some of the absolute finest lamb I have ever tasted. Fringform Lamb supplied me with a wonderful hefty shoulder of lamb at a very competitive price, marbled with nice creamy fat and the deep maroon tone that shows you this little bleater had plenty of exercise.
Roasted gently with garlic, rosemary and a dribble of olive oil, and served alongside some superior roasties (also procured at the market), it had a rich, intense flavour that you simply don't get in supermarket cuts. The vendors were knowledgable not only on how the meat was produced, but about cooking it and even how to make it go a bit further.
