Visiting the lads at Bastable Brothers is something I look forward to on a Saturday morning.
What strikes you first is the exceptionally tasty sausage rolls on the right hand counter, occassionally kept company by free sausage samples. There's always a warm welcome and plenty of friendly, expert advice. They make time to isten and advise appropriately. Thsi is how retail should be.
The sirloin steaks are high quality. I have bought more than 30 (not all for me) over the summer for various barbecues and not once been dissappointed. Their sausages are a real treat with lots of different flavour combinations and plenty of meat %.
I can also recommend their gammon joints and the Mack family family have high hopes for our 2009 Turkey. We troubled them for 10 minutes of questions on how to cook it on the big day. Patiently they explained and made sure we understood the drill even throwing in a pop up timer.
I have banned Mrs Mack from buying any meat from Tesco so I can indulge my addiction to the world class Bastable susage roll.
