This is a wonderful place, the cheese selection is superb and the staff very knowledgeable. Besides the cheese, there is a wide range of gourmet delights at reasonable deli prices. If you can't make it down, or are looking for a gift idea they also do delivery.
The best oatcakes by far, I always buy a few packs for the freezer whenever I'm in the area. Of course I have to buy a bacon and egg filled oatcake to eat straight away ...
I go to the Marble Beer house in Chorlton, which has a fine range of the Marble beers. I especially like the Ginger beer and the Chocolatey stout beer. Definitely worth a visit.
It was a great place to get lunch as a student in the 80s and is still a great place 20 years later. It's been through a few changes, but it still feels the same.
Slightly off the beaten track in Chorlton, but well worth a visit if you like good quality deli food and organic meat and cheese. You can replenish the extra energy used with a proper hot chocolate and 'disco' cake.
This is my corner shop and I shop there many times a week. Great locally sourced fresh produce, good selection of ready meals, good deli counter and all prices reasonable. The organic wine and beer selection is also excellent and very well stocked.
Suppliers of great quality sustainable fish including mackerel, John Dory, red mullet and line-caught bass. Also sushi made fresh in front of your eyes and the best value free range whole chickens in Chorlton.
