A remarkable enterprise. A working farm open to the whole community to experience the beautiful milking herd and stunning vegetable garden. A delightful shop with a wide range of own grown biodynamic fruit & veg and other local (and some not-so-local) produce. Raw milk (what a treat!), cheese, yoghurts, honey, apple juice, the list goes on. This is what a farm should be like.
What an experience. After I had wound my way along the lane through the farm I happened upon the delightful shop set in the heart of the farmyard, shaded by tall chesnuts. Children played in the road and a 3 legged sheep dog sat nonchalantly by as I parked. The wooden barns, the busyness and the friendliness was almost of a bygone era.
Barry, the butcher, is a local legend and there are many, those who know meat, that come from much further a field to buy from here. The farm is biodynamic (google it) and community owned. The beef and lamb were fantastic. The sausages are simply the best you are likely to find anywhere. And you can walk round the farm. I have never been anywhere like it. Fabulous.
