Stumbled across this great place on a spring walk at Easter - a biting day outside, hot scones and local beer inside, yum. An appropriately limited menu means not much choice, but excellent quality food along the lines of soup, stew, risotto - all homemade and delicious like the cakes.
Best thing: the rhubarb crumble cake
Worst thing: service sometimes a bit slow, but such lovely people it's hard to mind
Small, local bakery, making bread on this site for 4 generations. Open from early (about 8.15) to until the bread runs out. The bread, in particular the wholemeal, is delicious, the best in Oxford. The service is friendly and kind, this shop is a true pillar of the community. Cakes are often for sale too, along with whatever is around and is good including apples or honey.
A small, friendly and very helpful company who operate a weekly veg and fruit box scheme in the Oxford area. The produce is always good quality and delicious, plus there is plenty of variety in comparison to other veg box schemes I have bought from in the past.
But what I really like are the hand-written packing notes from Kim and the feeling that they have some idea who I am out of all their customers - they were amazingly helpful when I had to email them asking not to receive a Kohlrabi as my husband has a pathological fear of the Martian vegetable, we got extra spinach instead which was great.
