This is an excellent veg box scheme. Extremely good value for money. We get the mini box which is plenty for two people who eat a lot of vegetables. The box always has potatoes, carrots an some type of onion and a large variety of other seasonal, locally grown vegetables and occasionally fruit, such as strawberries and even melon. This scheme also seems to be much cheaper than other such schemes and I can highly recommend it.
This tiny shop is packed to the gunnels with quality food and drink. It is a very popular place, always a squeeze to get inside as a favourite of so many people. It sells everything you would expect from a high quality deli. A lot of the produce is local, and staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the food they are selling.
Located close to Exeter, this fruit farm has a wide selection of pick your own, pre-picked and frozen fruit. I came home with hundreds of redcurrants, desert gooseberries, blackcurrants, boisonberries, loganberries, tayberries and the most beautiful tasting Victoria plums. They also grow strawberries, raspberries, asparagus, rhubarb, cherries, apples, pears so I'd recommend a visit several times during the year to try it all when it is in season. It was all very good value for money. They also sell wine from their vineyard which is very good!
What a fantastic farm shop. Piglets in the yard greet you as you arrive. Mouthwatering sausages and other pork products from their own pigs (the tenderloin I had the other day was some of the tastiest pork I have ever eaten). A good range of other local food means you can get all the supplies you need for the kitchen. Free range chicken and duck, local beef and lamb are all available along with free range duck and chicken eggs. The dry goods are labelled with the number of miles they have travelled, all very low. There is nearly always a special offer on the frozen pork products so you can stock up the freezer with tenderloin, ribs, belly, sausages and more for very little money. The locally (home?) made pies come in an interesting variety of flavours and taste great.
Additionally Kenniford Farm do the best hog roast I have ever tasted!
