Wonderful old-fashioned tearoom, just like the famous Betty's but half the price. Generous sandwiches and delicious cakes and homemade scones. A real Yorkshire experience!

Love Acorn Dairy. Milk is delicious, so creamy it's hard to believe it's semi skimmed. Also their own butter in season, spreads straight from the fridge. Very reliable delivery too and they provide a stamped addressed envelope to pay the bill! It's nice to get a little note each week on how things are down on the farm.

Wow, we found this place by accident, and what a find! Great service and tasty food, as much as possible is locally grown. Staff had tasted all the menu items so knew what to recommend. Balsamic mushroom crouton topped with grilled goat's cheese and served on rocket salad was a perfect veggie meal when we added a (generous) bowl of seasonal veg.

Word of mouth has brought customers here since it opened last year, and it's almost too good to be true. Fantastic local meat in the shop including home cured bacon and tasty sausages. The cafe serves the best afternoon tea around; you'll need to walk it off (public footpath over the road). Especially recommended: giant scones with local clotted cream and jam, sticky chocolate brownies, yummy meringues. Fairtrade foods for sale.
