Every good product has to have a good story to tell
...and the Brown Cow story is no disappointment.
Rib of Beef
Our herd of Guernsey cows is more commonly known for the rich creamy milk that the cows produce. However in the late 1990s we just happened to have one of the pure bred Guernsey males ready to be sold for meat. We were offered a paltry sum for the animal so decided to have it killed and butchered for our own use instead. We gave some of the beef to friends and the overall response was that we had produced some very tasty beef indeed..
The best beef I have ever had the pleasure of eating! We've bought meat from them at the last two Organic Food Festivals in Bristol, and are looking forward to buying a bigger freezer so that we can order some more!
I've only lived in the area since April, but Brown Cow Organics is already firmly established as a favourite. An incredibly easy ordering system online, complemented by free delivery make for a winning combination. Always a friendly voice on the other end of the phone, nothing too much trouble, and everything delivered on trust with payment not taken up front. And the meat - well it is quite simply delicious. The mince (yes, a young family in the `mince years', we get through a lot!), has depth, flavour & texture far superior to any other. The bacon is sweet & smoky & dangerously moreish. The more expensive cuts of meat are only for special occasions - but their quality is unsurpassed. And all this on our doorstep - fantastic.
