Nestling in the shadows of the Malvern Hills the Clives Fruit Farm is a successful family business which was first founded in 1911. Mr. Clive senior was a pioneer of Pick Your Own in the 1960's and innovation is still very much evident today.
Set within walking distance of the busy riverside town of Upton-Upon-Severn well known for its festivals during the summer months.
The Upton Jazz, Folk, Blues, Cagen Dance and the Water Festival are all popular attractions at this time, although the town is well worth a visit any time of the year. The Oak Apple Day is also another event which is popular.
We've been visiting Clive's for about a year now as my children love to feed the chickens and pigs! It also has a lovely playground and the pick your own produce is great. The home brewed cider and perry (very potent) is great and the staff are, on the whole, friendly and polite. It is a very pleasant place to visit with a nice little cafe, although the service is sometimes a little slow.
I have noticed however, that there has been a sharp increase in the price of the animal feed and the farm shop produce isn't always fresh, with some fruit and veg being left to nearly rotting point. The free range chickens from a nearby farm are beautiful though and are a must to buy if you visit.
On the whole, and enjoyable place to visit and nice to combine with a visit to nearby Upton.
