Delicious, fresh produce including meat, cheeses, honey, jam, pickles, cakes, bread, seasonal fruit and vegetables, take-away food, eggs, herbs, sausages, flowers, unusual plants for the garden, apple juice, wines and cider.
Much of the produce is organic, and all of it is local.

very good little market, Lewes is a lovely and very interesting town in the Sussex countryside and it has a great mix of shops, foodie places and places of historical interest to visit. It's market has a great selection of local producers too. Well worth a visit on both counts.

In 1998 Common Cause set up a Farmers' Market in Lewes, one of the first in the country. At Farmers' Markets, local producers sell food that they have grown, raised or processed themselves. At the Lewes market, produce comes from Sussex. Priority is given to small-scale producers who work in a way that cares for the environment and animal welfare.
