A niche premium food hall that stocks food you can trust at prices you would not believe. All our butchery lines are locally sourced and the farms are within 20 miles of the store. Our chicken is from South Glos, our beef from Somerset, Venison from Berkeley Castle and much much more. We also stock 24 artisan cheeses, a wide selection of self serve snacks and local mineral water to name but a few lines in our range; all with great service and weather permitting, a sizzling BBQ outside the store each Saturday plus our own hand churned ice cream in tubs or cones.
This place should be visited for the sausages, which are arguably the best in Bristol - made from Gloucester Old Spot just up the road. The ones with Stilton have a fantastic tang that works well with a clean mashed potato, and the standard Old Spot are great for a breakfast fry-up.
Also quite exciting are the eggs that you pick yourself (discount for bringing your own boxes) and the rows of jars with loose sweets, snacks, grains and pulses.
The proprieter is more than happy to communicate his love of food and occasionally encourages a mini tasting session. If you live in or near Westbury, this should be part of your Saturday shop.
I live only 10 mins form Finest in Westbury-on-Trym village and it's a lovely little delicatessen! Not to be mistaken with a farm shop (No vegetables or milk here). However they do have a great range of snacks, Japanese rice crackers, BBQ Cashew nuts, Turkish delight (YUM!). They also have stock some delicious fair trade chocolate from the Divine range. I've purchased some of the pie minster pies from here and wasn't too bowled over by them but that's no reflection on the shop itself. The blonde lady who works in the shop is always so friendly and helpful. I would recommend visiting this shop for good cheese and snacks (sweet & savoury). I visit there perhaps once a fortnight and always greeted with a smile.
