Established in 1992 we are passionate about bringing fresh local fish to the table.
I personally buy our fish every day at Brixham fish market, arguably the best fish market in the UK. Seasonal migration of fish allow over 40 species to be landed and presented within my shop. Buying mainly from small independant Day Boats guarantees quality and minimal impact on the fish stocks. My staff are either trained chefs or very adept at cooking fish and this together with their fishmonger skills allows us to present the fish perfectly for your required recipie, or allow us to suggest the best way to cook the selected fish.
This fish shop on Magdalen Road in Exeter is a real gem. The fish is wonderfully fresh, bought every morning from Brixham market and they have a policy of buying line-caught and sustainable local fish wherever possible. It has won awards including the Devon Life magazine's "Fishmonger of the year" and "The Seafish Industry Authority Retail Quality Award" which are very well deserved. The service is extremely friendly, with lots of advice on how to cook your fish if you ask for it. They also sell shellfish.
The red gurnard, pollock and smoked haddock I bought from here a few months ago were all the best of each type I have ever had, so fresh and tasty.
I'm always surprised how low the price is when it's all added up at the end. All in all highly recommended!
