I agree with Joybells regarding the widespread geography of the pork pies - ours travel to Southport whenever we visit Hadfield - the lamb is locally sourced from Kinder and is exceptional!!
Propoer butchers who are happy to not only give you the cut of meat you ask for but also recommend recipies and cooking methods. The prepared meals are a chat way of having home cooked food - just not ebtirely cooked in your own kitchen, and the pork pies are so good I now have to take a supply with me to St Bees in Cumbria whenever I visit relatives!
