Linscombe Farm is situated in a quiet valley in the heart of rural Mid Devon, 4 miles from the small market town of Crediton. Nestled in amongst the rolling hills typical of the area, much of the farm is steep, permanent grassland that is home to an incredible array of plants, animals, bugs and fungi. Some 25 of the farm’s 70 acres are suitable for the production of vegetables and the loamy soil, although stoney, seems to impart an exceptional flavour to whatever is grown in it. In 2002, we took out a long tenancy on an additional 80 acres of good Red Devon soil a few miles from the farm and many of our vegetables are now produced on this.
Linscombe Farm provide weekly vegetable boxes to subscribers in a 12 mile radius of their farm as well as selling produce weekly at Exeter Farmers Market (Thursday mornings) and in Crediton Farmers Market monthly (first Saturday in the month). Their organic vegetables are delicious, always seasonal and grown on their own farm (except during the Hungry Gap in late May and June when they buy from other local organic farms so we still get fed!) They provide tasty vegetables which are good value for money, grown and transported responsibly and I would reccomend them to anyone.
