Home Farm is a traditional family-run mixed farm nestling on the slopes of Bredon Hill that has been in the Meadows family since 1953.
Home Farm Cow
Our reputation for producing quality traditionally-reared fresh meat started with the famous "Meadows Turkey" over 50 years ago. Nowadays, as well as turkeys, the family-run farm rears sheep, beef cattle and pigs.
Home Farm is situated in the quiet, unspoilt village of Bredons Norton in a Conservation area. The farm has been designated as an area of "outstanding Natural Beauty" by the Nature Conservancy Council.
Meadows Farm Shop is located in the farmyard of their farm on the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire border and sells beef, lamb, pork and christmas turkeys from their farm plus other local product including chicken, speciality flour, cakes, honey & preserves, eggs, fruit and vegetables. (see http://www.meadowshomefarm.co.uk/farmshop.php)
We started using them not long after moving to the area and though they are not organic, we find the quality better than many organic suppliers. In particular, their beef and lamb is mature and aged properly, so it is very tasty. They sell very reasonably boxes of half a lamb and you can choose how you want it butchered (eg One whole leg or two halves).
They encourage you to look around the farmyard and to take children to look at the lambing sheds or the turkeys - Any farmer who is keen to show his customers around obviously has nothing to hide. I highly recommend this farm shop to anybody.
