When I set up Mortimer & Bennett in Turnham Green Terrace, Chiswick with Di Bennett in 1991, my aim was to offer real, quality food for people to taste, buy and cook. Thirteen years on and my aim hasn’ t changed: I am still just as excited about good food and discovering new, quality produce.

As supermarkets become bigger, less personal and more commercial, we, at Mortimer & Bennett, concentrate on building personal contacts with small, artisan producers at home and abroad, and seeking out those products that are not available in the supermarkets. Many of our suppliers are family concerns and all are passionate about the food they produce.

As a result, Mortimer & Bennett is crammed with speciality foods from around the world, many of which are exclusive to us. We stock an extensive range of cheeses, breads, oil and charcuterie, as well as a selection of fun foodie gifts such as the world’s most expensive jam and chocolates inspired by the Kama Sutra! So whether you’re after a panettone from Turin, an extra virgin olive oil from New Zealand or an unusual condiment to spice up leftovers, make Mortimer & Bennett your first stop.
