History and tradition are the foundations of our business, starting with our home which lies nestled in the shadow of Cairns Castle, built in the 15th century to protect the Cauldstane Slip drove road.
Passed down through 4 generations are the skills of working in harmony with nature and to produce slow maturing traditional tasting meat. We take pride and passionfor the health and welfare of all our animals and the environment.
We have been living and farming at Cairns since 1860, almost 150 years. For the past 8 years, we have been working hard creating our own branded produce. Today, in the grounds of our farm, we have our very own butchery and farm shop with our Mrs Hamilton's brand organic, beef, lamb and mutton.
And why Mrs. not Mrs? Well, Mr. runs the farm and Mrs. prepares the good food for the table. Need we say more?
A good range of cuts always available with helpful staff and other local produce in their shop. Their beef mince makes the best meatballs!! They are found at Edinburgh Farmers Market too.
