We opened on July 4th 1979 in Neal's Yard in Covent Garden. At the time, Neal's Yard Dairy was owned by Nicholas Saunders, who had already started a bakery and wholefoods warehouse in the yard and Monmouth Coffee Company on Monmouth Street.
Superb shop, selling British cheeses, excellent bread, milk, eggs, olive oils, jams etc. It's staffed by fantastic people, who are always willing to share their knowledge and encourage customers to try new cheeses. Highlights are the Colston Basset stilton, the parmesan and the massive range of fresh bread.
Wyken Vineyards - Bury St. Edmunds
There can be few days out more satisfying to the dedicated organic foodie and country lover than one spent at Wyken Vineyards, an ancient Suffolk estate housing the award winning Leaping Hare restaurant and cafe in a 400 year old barn surrounded by 7 acres of lush, silent vineyards and woods, and 4 acres of breathtaking Elizabethan gardens looking like something from a magazine in the dentists' waiting room.
