We have set up this store as a real alternative to the supermarket. We stock a wide selection of everyday food items such as milk, cheese, eggs, meat, and poultry, as well as a range of books and smallholder supplies.
Virtually all of our produce is sourced locally from the extremely impressive producers we have here in the South West, accompanied by a small number of high-quality products from other counties in the UK. Come and support these producers, and see for yourself what we’ve put together!
Loved the shop, the food was gorgeous, bit pricey but worth it. The veg tasted amazing.
havent eaten at the cateen, but i went to the main house and wow, the food was the best i had ever had, you have to go.
i paid 60 ahead for a fri night, but if you gointo the shop/canteen they have offers on the wall, i went in in jan and it was only £45 a head so a great saving!
Recently had our third trip to River cottage (which was unsurpassable as usual)- and also to the Axminster store. The store was dissapointing this time around.. arrived half an hour before closing to find the fresh food counter & veg had been cleared away, prepacked bacon & chicken had run out- we just managed to buy herby sausages and free range eggs for breakfast the next day. Tasted good though.
Saw the shop on the River Cottage Website and have purchased goods from the shop. Excellent value for money, can't fault it at all. Will certainly be buying from there again and would recommend to others.
Pretty good! the shop looks great and there's a great cafe / bistro at the back. All is on view - if you're a River Cottage fan then you won't be disappointed.
All the produce looks excellent and all clearly marked with it's producer, sourcing.
