River Nene provide a range of veg boxes from £7.90 - £14.95 The contents change weekly and are seasonal. We look after you from beginning to end and are your direct link to the farms, with a personal touch. We work as part of a co operative group to look after customers for the farms in the area we live. The Castor farm is approx.30 miles from Leicester so the produce is local. Orders can be taken on-line, by email or phone which ever you are more comfortable with. We aim to provide quality produce from the River Nene farms where 75 percent of the produce in the boxes is grown. This allows us to know about the produce, as we order the seed, grow it to maturity, and aim to bring it to your door the day after picking. We do not have a market stall for this reason. We prefer the produce to continue in the ground or on the plant growing till harvest and then as quickly as possible out to the customer. As much as possible when sourcing produce from outside the farm - to enable variety - we look first to other organic producers in the East Midlands, and then further afield. Produce when brought in from Europe or further is never air freighted.
