Starting in July 04, I am into my third season of growing at Lowes Farm in Riber and June 08 will see the box scheme's first birthday. I grow an wide selection of vegetables along side soft fruit such as Strawberries, Raspberries and Currants. In the coming years, I will have our own Apples, Pears and Plums to offer from the 200 trees that have been planted since 2006. I am happy to say that we have been accredited by the Soil Association since the start with full Organic status being gained in December 2006. The second field attains that status next May, giving me 3 1/2 acres of organic land to crop! I also sit on the comitttee of the Organic Growers Alliance that aims to be the voice of Organic Horticulture here in the UK. Give me a call and arrange a visit, to see exactly what the business has to offer you. Our hard work was rewarded at last Octobers Food Awards, when we came HIghly Commended in the Local Food Hero category, who knows what this year will bring!
Although Scott hasn't been attending some of the Farmer's Markets I go to, I always found his fruit and veg to be first rate. A wonderful selection to choose from, and so many varieties too. Always beautifully displayed in handcrafted wicker baskets!
