I was in Newcastle on holiday with a friend and was amazed and delighted to pass this cafe/restauant in a side street near the Monument. They were listed by the Guardian as one of the top 5 organic restuarants in the U.K. in 2007.
The menu is varied with options for vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. and the food is certified organic. Some items such as bread and humous are home made.
The restaurant is also licensed and open in the evenings and the meat is sourced locally. The prices were good too.
The building is not imposing, you would not necessarily expect to find this wonderful place - I hope locals support it!
orchard farm hatchery - sandhurst
I can recommend Orchard Farm Hatchery I buy my eggs from here, the chickens are kept in brilliant conditions, the eggs are so different from the supermarkets, they have great flavour and they make the best cakes, the yokes are yellow!! (not like the pale ones from the supermarket).
