Opened in 1959, this family-run Greek Delicatessen is great alternative to the supermarket. It is still run with the same service that I imagine opened with - when was the last time you were offered personal service in Sainsbury's or were able to leave the shopping you have amassed at the till and continue browsing whilst they tot it up on an 'old-school' till. The range of fruit and veg, including huge bunches of herbs, is fantastic as is the knowledge of the staff. The parmesan is cut straight off a huge hunk of cheese rather than greasily packaged in plastic. Plus, whilst it stocks Greek specialities like vine leaves and Greek wines, it also has other supplies and ingredients such as quince paste, a large range of De Cecco pasta and genuine Italian risotto rice. You could spend ages perusing the shelves and, whilst the supermarkets may stock most items, it is the attentive staff who make this place a worthwhile diversion.
