This has to be one of the best butchers, with a wonderful range of meat. It is ALWAYS of the highest quality and the friendly staff and helpful advice is second to none. However busy there is always time to help. The Christmas queue is a sight to behold, and the lovely hot drinks last year were a delight! This is truly a traditional butchers who have managed to move with the times but keep the high standards.

Whenever I visit Taylors, I feel relaxed enough to ask stupid questions..."So, how do you cook that?"..." What does that mean?" .... "Is that enough for 2?" - I'm never patronised just given very good advice and excellent meat and poultry. I work full time and trying to fit in shopping can be a bind - I really appreciate the early opening (7:45 ish) so that I can pop in on my way to work.

A few months ago I recieved the Taylor's email that advised how to make the best pork crackling - it looked weird and wonderful but I thought I would give it a go. I tried it out when my mother-in-law was visiting. She initially said, "no, no, I love it but I mustn't - I might damage my teeth". Well I persuaded her try a little and then there was no stopping her..."best crackling ever, can I have some more...". Thanks for keeping me in the will.

My husband doesn't shop - but he adores the various prepared meals - chicken rosti being a particular favourite. Thanks for keeping me in the wallet.

My wife and I moved into the area 2 years ago and saw this butcher with people queued out the door..... we haven't bought meat from anywhere else since. The service is excellent and the staff are always friendly. They will cater to any request, always have everything you need and will tell you where everything is sourced. We've also been in the long long queue at Christmas for the last 2 years and plan to be there for a few more. We have regular orders from friends and family in the North East resulting in trips home with cool bags full of Taylor's produce. We use the loyalty cards that we accumulate through the year to pay for our Christmas fayre. Fantastic!

My son will not eat any other bacon but Taylors. He now invites his friends around on a Sunday morning for breakfast so that they can have it too. Last count, was breakfast for 14 including Mum and Dad.
Bacon excellent, Beef roasts in pepper sauce to die for. Sausages incredible; try their "Full Monty" sausage. Everyone in the queue out of the shop looks at each another and smiles with a "I see you know who the best butcher is then!" We always meet friends there and make new ones in the queue.
Christmas starts when we order the Turkey for Christmas day from Taylors.
Brilliant guys.

Outstanding butcher, committed to top-quality local meat and service. I haven't bought supermarket meat for a decade, and never will. Frank and the team provide tremendous service levels, and nothing is too much trouble. If Taylors ever start selling on-line (which they should), then watch this space - you heard it here first!

If you only ever visit one more butcher - then let it be Taylors.
An amazing range of free range meat and poultry, plus some prepared and speciality products, served by the most friendly and knowledgeable staff around.
Take your own bag and help to save the planet.

Taylor's cannot be beaten!
Bacon - best ever
Steak - stunning
Chicken - you will not see these shrink like supermarket products

I hate - the end of the summer when the peppered steak and lamb kebabs have all gone.
I love - the huge "Round the corner" queue at Christmas when all of Sale go to pick up their turkey's etc., the barbecue tester days, and so much more.

You must visit this butcher

A fantastic range of produce - the barbeque range is great at this time of year - the minted lamb kebabs a must! Excellent customer service, always a happy smile and a suggestion of what and how to cook, if you are looking for it. Locally sourced meat, with real taste. Worth going out of your way for. The loyalty card that they offer is also a nice little bonus to have.

Just what a butcher should be! Service is excellent, and the friendly atmosphere between the staff just makes me want to work there. And as for their meat - some of the best tasting meat we have ever had. Worth a special trip.

What fantastic quality meat!! Until about six months ago we always brought our meat from the supermarket along with the rest of the weekly shop, then a friend recommended Taylor's so we thought we'd give it a try! We were amazed at the difference in the meat, it was like eating top quality restaurant meat. You know what it's like when you buy a nice looking steak or joint of beef from the supermarket, it's always disappointing and you wonder how the local restaurants manage to serve up such a high quality product, well now we know, they must source it from somewhere like Taylor's. I'm no Gordon Ramsey (the language is sometimes just as blue in the kitchen but I definitely don't have his money) but following the exact same recipe that I used for the supermarket meat using Taylor's meat instead produced fabulous results! Only the other week whilst running late I made the mistake of picking up some steak at the supermarket to save a five minute detour to Taylor's, it was awful and ruined Saturday night’s meal. Never again !! Without a doubt it's worth the effort to visit this butchers. P.S The service and staff are always excellent....
