The Anchor at Walberswick has recently been taken over by Mark and Sophie Dorber, who are bringing the high standards of their well known Parson’s Green pub, The White Horse, to the coast. Mark’s vast knowledge of beer and wines, and Sophie’s insistence upon the freshest, seasonal, local produce, ensure that The Anchor at Walberswick is fast becoming a welcoming local and a gastronomic destination.
The Anchor is fast becoming known as a welcoming local and a gastronomic destination. Transformed in the last couple of years by Mark and Sophie Dorber, well-known for their days at the famous White Horse (Sloaney Pony) in London's Parsons Green. The Dorbers have firmly placed fresh local food back on the menu, in fact much of it is grown on the pub's own allotment! They work with local producers including Blythburgh Pork and Maple Farm to create simple but elegant dishes like ham bubble and squek and confit of duck on roast mash.
