We aim to create a relaxed foodie pub, with locality and seasonality being the priorities, from local fish and meat to beer from harveys and award winning wine from chapel down and ridgeview.
until very recently, the ginger fox was known as shaves thatch and can be found on the henfield road, albourne. it is a 15 minute drive from brighton and only 5 minutes from henfield and hurstpeirpoint.
our extensive refurbishment means a new thatched roof, kitchen, bar and restaurant. the ginger fox has a large car park and garden. we now serve lunch, dinner and afternoon tea as well as a rare breed hog roast at weekends.
Having visited the Gingerman Restaurant in Brighton I was very pleased to get an invite to a lunch at the Ginger Fox, a pub in the heart of the mid-Sussex countryside. It was a lovley day so we chose to sit outside and the service was prompt. The menu was very interesting too. I had the potted shrimp to start which was delicious, as was the pea and broadbean knocchi I had for a main. My friend chose a cold cucumber and crab soup which was incredibly refreshing and also very good (I couldn't help but try it too) and for main he had filo goats cheese parcels which were very light and tasty. This is a very nice venue and the food was good and not over-priced.
