A permanent farmers’ market, open six days a week and including a restaurant which sources seasonal ingredients from the local and regional producers who run the stalls. Converted from an industrial coal store, it opened in 2002 and now has its own on-site bakery, and an on-site retail butchery –selling well-matured meats from 5 local and organic producers. Organic Food Awards 2004 Local Food Initiative Joint Winner.
absolutely delicious food, an absolute must if your'e in canterbury. the produce is fresh, organic, locally sourced and seasonal. the meat is amazing, as are the other products. it sells everything from homemade (usually warm from the oven) sausage rolls to cheese and olives. it is open six days a week and also includes a restaurant which serves more lovely food in the evening.
This market must be visited if you are in Canterbury. The produce is local and there is such a wide variety on sale you're bound to find something you love! In addition, there is a restaurant on site which is excellent. The menu changes daily using produce that is fresh from the market. My favourite time to visit is on a lunchtime because then you get to eat delicious food and watch the bustling market while you eat.
Caws Cenarth - Abercych
I've purchased several varieties of cheese produced by Caws Cenarth, and all have been excellent! The Leek and White Wine mature cheese is to die for!!!.
