The Griffin, Caversham, is a 'home away from home' for many locals and regulars, and is renowned throughout the Reading area for good food and a varied menu. This Chef and Brewer pub provides excellent, friendly service and has a relaxed atmosphere.
The country pub style decor features exposed beams and hops hanging from the ceiling. The hand-written chalkboard menus around the restaurant add further to the restaurant's charm. The patio outdoor seating area is a perfect venue for a warm summer day, and the open place fireplace cannot be rivalled during the cold winter months.
The menu offers a huge selection to choose from, with main meals including traditional pub food favourites, vegetarian, fish and meat specialities. Head Chef, Andrew Hemmings, devises delicious specials that are updated every six weeks. For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert board is full of rich, tempting desserts and the plentiful cheese board offers a savoury alternative for the perfect end to a delicious meal. A snack and lunchtime menu is also available, providing lighter bites and salads.
