The Meadow is situated in Hove, adjacent to the famous Clock Gardens; it is somewhere that you can enjoy a relaxed friendly atmosphere, with British Cuisine at the forefront of the menu, influenced by French and Italian cooking techniques.. The Meadow has recently introduced a new farm shop offering homemade produce as well as organic vegetable direct from local farms.
Seasonal produce is sourced directly from small farms and local suppliers and all dishes are produced on the premises as well as homemade breads and pastries. Commendably the menu features some of the finest rare breed meats such as the Longhorn cow and the Middle White pig, as well as fish sourced from the local coastline.
On food alone i'd rate as excellent but on a recent visit it was a little slow to come and the atmosphere and service could be improved. That said, the Longhorn salt beef was a dream. Absolutely delicious - It's a tough venue to provide with an atmosphere as an ex bank - but I think & hope this one will succeed and I would certainly recommend as an experience as the attention to seasonal and local produce is second to none in Brighton & Hove - just a few tweaks needed here and there but a great start in general for what has always been a very tough plot for restaurants.
