Unpackaged, in Clerkenwell, London, is a benchmark in ecologically sound retail. Selling loose foods, from popping corn to wheat-free muesli, the store offers a one-off first-timers' bag, and for each subsequent visit the customers must bring their own receptacle to bag up their purchases.
Shopping at Unpackaged is a joy. Not only can you do your bit to reduce waste going to landfill by taking along your own containers to fill up with organic dry goods, fruit & veg, cheese, olive oil and all manner of other goodies (not to mention eco cleaning products, shampoo etc), but the shop looks beautiful and Cath and her team are always friendly and helpful. Go there! But don't forget your tupperware. (Although if you do, they sell a really good range in the shop.)
