A great place to shop with over 400 stalls under one roof offering just about everything under the sun.

Wimborne Market was founded over 150 years ago by Thomas Ensor, adjoining the recently arrived Railway Station. In 1850 this was the new form of transport and enabled livestock to be transported for far greater distances than had previously been possible.

t was to answer strong local demand that Ensors re-established a 'New Farmers Market' at Wimborne Market in May 1999 using an area of the market where calves used to be sold 50 years ago. Since last may the 'Farmers Market' has grown in size and popularity and is now one of the busiest sections of the large Friday Market.

3 day market held every week in Wimborne, Dorset. It is every Friday/Saturday/Sunday

The farmers market is Friday, but there are a wide range of stalls, most of which are regular. There are 2 or 3 veg stalls and I find you need to shop carefully as prices vary. There are also butchers, a coffee company and a cheese seller, as well as a wide range of interesting craft, bric a brac and antiques stalls.

The market is on the outskirts of Wimborne, at the back of the Riverside Trading estate. For visitore it is well signposted from the main roads.

I go on Sundays and if, like me, you don't agree with paying for parking, most of the businesses in the next door trading estate are closed, so I park for free there. There is a private parking company that patrol on Sundays only, and will take your numberplate and send a ticket later on. What they are doing is not legal, even though the DVLA sells them your address. We've had 2 invoices from them over the last 2 years but ignored their threats. If you get a ticket ping me for further details of how to deal with the scumbags
